Video Games and Gift Cards

Good evening, today Francis and I dressed up as ninjas and chased bad guys around... no... no...  that's what we wanted to do. Instead we played Lego Harry Potter, which, might I say, is a pretty awesome video game. It literally sucked me; I found myself playing it all day and yet it only felt like a few hours. I've already beat all the levels(or stages... whatever) and now I'm working on unlocking all the characters; but I've already unlocked my favorite character so I'm good as far as characters go. I do wonder when I'm going to get Snape, every time I think I might win him - I don't. He's probably in a level not even associated with him! :(

I think I might have spent longer trying to purchase this game than playing it, however. When I went to buy the game, I had to get someone to get it out from behind the glass for me, and then when I tried to use my Christmas gift card on it every possible thing went wrong. First, the card wouldn't scan for me or the cashier; then when she tried to use the numbers on the card, money was added to the total and it rang up 57$. So, she had to get the supervisor over to the register, whom we had to wait on for about five minutes(by now there are several people behind me, with what seem to be cards of some sort too). Once the supervisor gets over she tries everything the other lady did, and got the same result. For about ten minutes she kept doing this, until she phoned the manager for help. Luckily though, she managed to finally subtract the amount from the total before the manager arrived. After she handed me the receipt, she asked me if I wanted the card back, I politely said, "No, thank you." and she replied, "I don't blame you."

Once I get this game home I'm so ready to play it, but my mother is playing Sonic on my DS. I'm willing to wait on her though, but my nephews happen to she her playing it, and they ask if they can try. Panic hits me like a bullet. In my head I'm chanting over and over, "Please don't tell them to ask me!" Despite my chanting though, she asks me if they can. I retaliate with, "On their own systems." and of course, they didn't bring them, but they keep begging me to let them play. I don't fight it cause I now how it'll be with them, and I let them do one game.

If you knew my nephews though, you would know why the idea of letting them play with my DS would send dread down my spine. Their DS screens look like they went through a brier patch, and not to mention they treated my N64 so badly, luckily though I was able to save my N64 because they thought it had torn up. Despite the fact that I have had my N64 every since I was 8, I managed to keep it in perfect condition... up until my nephews learned how to hold a controller. Now I think I might have one good N64 controller left.

Finally, after they finish playing I get to start playing my new Harry Potter game. I played for a few hours, finished the first few levels, then I went to bed. When I went to play it the next morning, my DS needed charging.... just my luck.

I spent most of yesterday playing Lego Harry Potter though; I didn't even bother getting on the internet. If I had it would have only been to look for cheats, but I didn't need those for this game ;P After playing this Harry Potter game though, I'm thinking of getting the Half-Blood Prince for the DS too. I might check out trailers for it first, however.
