Yesterday our PC broke.... just broke, maybe exploded a little too. Of course though we had to get a replacement, so we went to town, just to look at PC's at first, but when we got there we went ahead and decided on an emachines tower. We previously had an emachines, and it lasted us about 7 to 8 years, that's the longest we've had any computer.
When we got the new tower home, I opened the box and looked at it. It looks awesome! 9 USB ports!! Even a DVD recorder. Though it is half the size of our last tower.... but twice as heavy.
So once I get it all set up, everything plugged in, I turned it on and did the setting up steps. After that short bit the screens pops up with everything, and I just stare at it a second.... It was completely different, everything-really everything- was different. I wanted to rip my hair out; I couldn't figure out where the pictures were cause there are two different types of files for pictures!
Also there was an ebay, a New York Times, and a Netflix shortcut!!! I don't use any of those things! So I removed them, but I did keep Skype, cause I've never used it before, but since it's on here I might just use it.
I waited to hook up the Internet until today, about an hour ago actually, cause I wanted to make some recovery discs before I did anything else, even before I removed stuff. Making discs took about an hour, I wanted to pull my hair even more then!!
But now, I got most my stuff back on there. Photofiltre, GIMP, Any Video Convertor, C Cleaner, Firefox, and all my firefox addons.... now I just need to get my bookmarks... all of them.... which is a lot.
I think I might do a comic based on this event.
